A surface covering system (110) for covering surfaces with a covering material (120) is proposed, particularly for covering wall surfaces or floor surfaces with tile material. The surface covering system (110) comprises at least two covering modules (112), which can be placed on the surface so as to adjoin each other. A first covering module (112) has at least one first sealing profile (128, 130), and a second covering profile (112) has at least one second sealing profile (128, 132). The sealing profiles (128, 130, 132) are designed to engage each other in a positioned state of the covering modules (112) and form a common seal (134). |
