PURPOSE:To reduce oil consumption by making the motion of one expander ear hard to be influenced by the motion of the other expander ear thereby following sufficiently to deterioration in the linearity of cylinder bore. CONSTITUTION:The expander ear 2 is splitted into two through a slit groove 8 extending vertically. The slit groove 8 is cut deeper than the height (h) of the expander ear to lower the rigidity individually. Consequently, only the motion of the expander ear 7 is facilitated against the expander 6 body side to reduce influence onto the expander body side or the motion of other expander ear in vertical direction. Consequently, the vertical side rails 4a, 4b will follow well individually to the cylinder bore face against the coarseness of the cylinder bore face.
