PURPOSE:To minimize the number of quantization bits of an analog-to-digital converter and an equalizer circuit by promptly detecting the overlevel and suppress it as well as correcting the under range. CONSTITUTION:A k-th truck signal outputted from an attenuator 5 is so adjusted that its positive peak of waveform may enter between voltages Vac and Vbc and a negative peak signal may enter between Vdc (=-Vbc) and Vec (=-Vac), and outputted from an output terminal 6. Shift register 45, 47 must only have the same number of steps as the number of trucks and the length of an H level signal of divider must only have t-time, and as they do not have to align their initial values with switch address of a multiplexer, the circuit composition shall be simplified. Furthermore, repetition cycle t2 of the output of divider 39 can be optionally set by selecting dividing ratio of a divider 39, therefore the recovery time of automatic level adjustment can be set freely.
