The present invention relates to a shielding wall of preformed structural members, which if appropriate consist at least partially of radiation-absorbing materials. Serving as structural members are profile elements 2 which are designed in the form of bars and have a concave-convex sickle-shaped cross-section 3 and are arranged such that the respective convex lateral surface 5 of one profile element 2 positively adjoins the concave lateral surface 6 of the respectively neighbouring profile element 2. The profile elements are connected firmly, but if appropriate detachably, to one another by one or more securing elements. The shielding walls are suitable in particular for shielding from radioactive and ionising radiation, but also for sound and heat insulation. <IMAGE>
