PURPOSE:To efficiently remove dust in air, by mixing dust-containing air and an aerosol containing moisture in a hermetically closed chamber to make particles increased in mass by flocculation and dropping said particles or adhering the same to other substance. CONSTITUTION:Air from which dust having a large particle size is removed by a filter enters and aerosol mixing chamber 4 from a suction serve chamber 1. An ultrasonic generator 7 is operated in said mixing chamber 4 to break water 6 into fine particles with a particle size of about 100mum or less to generate an aerosol which is, in turn, adhered to dust of flocculation said dust. The air containing the aerosol further passes through a duct 9 on enter a first cyclone, 8 where particles containing dust as a nucleus fall while increasing their wts. Particles with a small particle size are transferred to a second cyclone 13 along with air from an exhaust port 8a and passed between moisture- absorbing materials 20 while the selection and separation of the particles are further performed to obtain clean air.
