PURPOSE:To suppress the deterioration of an optical recording medium with lapse of time by providing silicon nitride layers contg. ametallic oxide and impurities on a light transmissive base. CONSTITUTION:The silicon nitride layer 2, a recording layer 3 consisting of an amorphous magnetic material and the silicon nitride layer 4 are formed by a sputtering method, etc., on the light transmissive base 1. The layers 2, 4 are formed of the silicon nitride contg. 0.1-50wt% >=1 kinds of the oxides of metals such as Mg, Ca, Al, Ga, In, Si, Sn and Zn. The optical recording medium which is less deteriorated in the characteristics by temp. and humidity or with lapse of time is obtd. according to the above-mentioned constitution. |
