PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal insulating material for molten metal which can be easily secured in a required amount and a method of producing the same.SOLUTION: A thermal insulating material for molten metal is a solid material mainly composed of at least one of silica and alumina, and carbon. A method of producing a thermal insulating material for molten metal includes a step of mixing inorganic materials comprising at least one of silica and alumina, and carbon, to granulate them in the presence of moisture. |
