Conventional compressors with crank drive perform one working stroke on a rotation per piston. Since in my rotary piston compressor an ellipse-like roll-off path carries out the stroke movement of the rollers instead of the crank drive, 8 working strokes are performed in a 4-piston machine per rotation of the working shaft. As a result, with the same stroke volume in relation to a conventional compressor, twice the compressor capacity can be derived. As the 4 compressor spaces rotate with the pistons, no further moving parts are necessary for drawing in, compressing and discharging. Further toothed wheels, eccentrics, valves and cam shafts as well as compensating masses are consequently eliminated.
