PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of a recording medium by providing a protective film layer consisting of a high-polymer compd. and the monomolecular film of an aliphat. compd. or the built-up film thereof on a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic layer 18, the protective film layer 19 and the monomolecular film or the built-up film thereof 20 are laminated on the substrate 1. The layer 19 consists of the high-polymer compd. and is formed by plasma polymn. of a hydrocarbon, etc. or sputtering of a polytetrafluoroethylene, etc. The layer 20 is formed of the aliphat. compd. (e.g.: cadmium stearate) by a Langmuir-Blogette's technique. The recording medium which is small in the coefft. of friction, is resistant to scratching by sliding and has a small deterioration rate is thus obtd. |
