PURPOSE:To facilitate the issue of the labels of goods to be exported for a foreign country and improve the operability of a price scale by printing a commodity description on the commodity description displays of the labels in both one language and a translated language. CONSTITUTION:Language data in Japanese and English have been inputted to first and second character generators 11 and 12, respectively. Normally, when a commodity description is set, a Japanese input is set as Japanese or an English input is set as English. In a condition wherein, for example, the Japanese input is set as Japanese, the commodity description 'GYUNIKU' (a Japanese word corresponding to 'BEEF') is printed on a label. However, when the Japanese input is set as English, for the inputted 'GYUNIKU', the commodity description 'BEEF' in the generator 12 is selected by language converting means 15 having a translating function and both the commodity descriptions 'GYUNIKU' and 'BEEF' are printed on the label. Thus, the issue of the labels of goods to be exported for a foreign country is facilitated and the operability of a price scale can be improved.
