PURPOSE:To obtain an operating characteristic suited to the driver's taste by providing a correcting means for manually commanding the ratio between generating torque adjusting means and a braking force adjusting means in a driving force control device for operating said generating torque adjusting means and braking force adjusting means to carry out slip control. CONSTITUTION:On receiving an output from a slip detecting means which is based on the values of various traveling units, such as, the rotating speed sensors of a driving wheel and a driven wheel, etc., when slippage is above a defined value, a generating torque adjusting means and a braking force adjusting means are operated, to control the driving force by lowering the generating torque of the power source while applying braking force. Also, a mode selecting means for manually commanding the ratio between the generating torque adjusting means and the braking force adjusting means is provided, thereby, considering and securing responsiveness, driving feeling, energy efficiency, and the reliability of a brake, to set a driving characteristic suited to the taste of a driver.
