PURPOSE:To make it possible to freely set the relation between a curvature of turn and a handle steering angle, by providing a variable gear mechanism in either of a front wheel steering mechanism or a rear wheel steering mechanism connected thereto, and also providing a steering force assisting device in a steering force transmitting line. CONSTITUTION:A front wheel steering mechanism interlocked with a steering wheel is connected through a linkage shaft 9 to a rear wheel steering mechanism. The front wheel steering mechanism is provided with a variable gear mechanism. The variable gear mechanism includes a rack of different teeth pitches meshing with a pinion 3 on a steering shaft 2. Further, the front wheel steering mechanism is provided with a steering force assisting device. The steering force assisting device includes an oil pump 41, a four-way valve 45, a relief valve, etc. The four-way valve 45 is selected by a signal from a vehicle speed sensor to supply and discharge is pressure oil to/from a power cylinder 40 in a gear box 10. |
