PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of continuous discharge after flashing by providing the titled device with a means for inhibiting charge to a capacitor by a charge control means during the input of a control signal by a signal generating means from a signal generating means generating a control signal based upon the generation of a light emission start signal by a prescribed period. CONSTITUTION:When a synchronizing signal is inputted through a diode 22, a trigger signal is generated in a trigger circuit 20 and a Xe tube 19 is flashed by charging energy supplied by a light emission starting capacitor 10 and a flashing capacitor 11. Consequently, the voltage of the capacitor 10 is also dropped down to a light emission stopping voltage in addition to the drop of the voltage of the capacitor 11 and the Xe tube 19 may generate continuous discharge, so that a continuous discharge preventing signal is outputted from an one-shot circuit 23 to the base of a transistor 26 during the start of the flashing up to the disappearance of Xe ions, a thyrister 24 is forcedly turned off during the period to interrupt a charging route to the capacitor 10. Thus, the Xe tube 19 can be prevented from continuous discharge. |
