PURPOSE:To automatically perform the multi-window processing at the side of a display device just by setting previously the simple and necessary instruction value into a memory set at the display device side from the side of a central processing unit after shifting totally the multi-window processing to the display device side. CONSTITUTION:A display control means (e) reads the corresponding instruction data out of a 3rd memory means (c) and a 4th memory means (d) in response to the data on a 2nd memory means (b) read out successively for each picture element. Then the means (e) selects the data on the corresponding display picture out of a 1st memory means (a) based on the instruction data, the data on the means (b) and a display position on a display device (f). The selected data is displayed at the corresponding display position of the device (f). In such a way, the multi-window processing is totally shifted to the side of the display device and therefore the device can perform automatically the multi- window processing just by setting the simple instruction value to a memory of the device from a central processing unit.
