PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition of outstanding whiteness, capable of reducing the amount of titanium dioxide to be incorporated, comprising an aqueous binder and a specific non-film-forming polymer emulsion. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition comprising (A) 100pts.wt. on a solid basis of an aqueous binder, (B) 0.1-9,900pts.wt. of a non-film-forming polymer emulsion prepared by emulsion polymerization, in the presence of (i) 0.1-30pts. wt. of a product made by emulsion polymerization between a) 5-70wt% of an alpha,beta-ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid, b), 5-95wt% of a (meth)acrylic 1-8C alkyl ester, and c) 0-50wt% of an aromatic vinyl compound, of (ii) 70-99.9pts.wt. of a mixture consisting of d) 2-9wt% of an alpha,beta-ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid, e) 50-98wt% of an aromatic vinyl compound, and f) 0-48wt% of another copolymerizable monomer and furthermore, if needed, (C) pigments.
