PURPOSE:To enhance the strength of a tool and reduce the cost thereof by forming a tooth shape all around the tool with a cemented carbide powder and an additive as raw materials and forming the cylindrical part of the cemented carbide material in such a way as to cover the tooth shape on the one side of a primary element for use as a shank. CONSTITUTION:A primary element with a tooth shape formed around the external surface from one end to the other end thereof via extrusion molding is formed, using a powder of a cemented carbide material and an additive as raw materials. After once exposed to a sintering process, the element is cut into a unit length, the cemented carbide material powder layer 4 of equal quality is embedded in a tooth shape groove around the tooth shape 5 of one side portion S and the element so processed is again sintered, thereby forming the S portion as a shank. According to the aforesaid constitution, a cutting edge is formed by a powder extrusion molding method and the core of a shank part can be monolithically made with a cutting part, thereby ensuring high strength and manufacture at a low cost.
