PURPOSE:To advantageously produce an Al material having anodized film with the excellent adhesion of a coated film and ageing resistance to retort deterioration, by anodizing an Al material under specified conditions with use of a phosphoric acid bath. CONSTITUTION:An aq. phosphoric acid soln. is used as the electrolytic bath, the Al material is used as the anode, and anodization is carried out. In this case, anodization is carried out for less than 15sec at 90-345g/l phosphoric acid concn. (x), 55-75 deg.C bath temp. (y), and 10-45A/dm<2> anodic current density (z) under the conditions satisfying y<=-01.x+100, y>=-0.038x+68.5, x>=-0.09z+28, and z>=0.1x-20. By this method, anodization effective for the Al material can be carried out in a short time.
