Filter bags of cloth filter systems can be cleaned reliably and readily, if the carrying frame is designed as a continuous pipe system which, via a feed pipe and valve, is connected to the compressed-air supply and which has holes directed towards the filter bag interior. Thus, large amounts of air or gas are introduced very rapidly into the filter bag, so that a controlled and very effective pressure shock pulse is produced which causes the filter cloth surfaces to be cleaned reliably. <IMAGE>
