SURFACE TREATMENT OF STEEL MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To improve the wear and friction resistances of a martensitic steel material contg. carbide in the matrix steel by immersing the steel material in an electrolytic soln. and impressing AC voltage so as to expose spherical carbide to the surface of the stele material. CONSTITUTION:A martensitic steel material contg. carbide 11 in the matrix steel 12 is immersed in an electrolytic soln. and prescribed AC voltage is impressed to the steel material immersed in the electrolytic soln. to treat the surface. By this surface treatment, spherical projections of the carbide 11 are exposed to the surface of the matrix steel 12.
