PURPOSE:To facilitate the production of a fluorescent lamp and correctly match the opening ends of a fluorescent film and a reflecting film on the inside and outside of a glass tube by forming the fluorescent film on a protective film made of a translucent ultraviolet ray reflecting material and formed on the whole periphery of the inside of a straight tube type glass tube having a specific diameter except part of the glass tube in the axial direction and forming the conductive reflecting film on the portion facing the fluorescent film on the outside of the glass tube. CONSTITUTION:A translucent ultraviolet ray reflecting protective film 11 is formed on the whole periphery of the inside of a straight tube type glass tube 10 having an outer diameter of 4-10mm. A fluorescent film 12 is formed on the protective film 11 except part of the glass tube in the axial direction. A conductive reflecting film 13 is formed on the portion facing the fluorescent film 12 on the outer periphery of the glass tube 10. A pair of bases 14, 14' are fitted to both end sections of the glass tube 10. Since the reflecting film 13 is formed on the outer periphery of the glass tube 10, it is easy to correctly match its end with the opening end of the fluorescent film 12 of the glass tube 10, thereby the light emission angle of a glass tube opening section 10' is made constant, and the yield of the fluorescent lamp production can be improved.
