PURPOSE:To prevent the titled device from rising to a temperature for exerting an undesirable influence on the temperature image density of a photosensitive material before a heating development, by setting a photosensitive material atmospheric temperature of the upstream of a heating developing device to 20-60 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:A housing 42 is provided with a shutter 45 for closing intermittently a carrying-in port 43, and the shutter 45 opens the carrying-in port 43 only a photosensitive material 8 which is sensitized is guided to a heating roller 44. Air in a heating developing device 40 is heated in advance to about 140 deg.C by the heating roller 44, and its outflow exerts an undesirable influence on the photosensitive material S. Also, in order to prevent a temperature rise of the upstream part of the heating developing device 40 due to ventilation by a suction port 4 and an exhaust port 5 in the upstream of the heating developing device 40, it is cut off from other part by a heat insulating wall 7. In such a way, the upstream part of the heating and developing device 40 is ventilated, or an atmospheric temperature of the photosensitive material S is detected, and by controlling an action of the shutter 45, the atmosphere of the photosensitive material is always held at 20-60 deg.C, and heating of an undeveloped photosensitive material can be prevented.
