PURPOSE:To obviate clogging of a toner in a spacing part where a magnet roller and image carrier face each other and to prevent damaging of the photosensitive layer on the surface of the image carrier, etc., by maintaining the magnet roller at a specified distance from the image carrier and changing the distance between the magnet roller and the image carrier according to the pressure to be exerted between both. CONSTITUTION:The magnet roller 4 is freely rotatably supported at one end of a lever 7 pivotally fitted to a pin 7a and is detained at the other end to the other end of a spring 8 one end of which is fitted to a proper point in the immobile part in a cleaning device. If a large amt. of the toner is supplied to the spacing part between the photosensitive body and the magnet roller by a certain circumstance or the like and the control for smooth napping is no longer executed, then the pressure in this part rises and the magnet roller is displaced in the direction parting from the photosensitive body by overcoming the force of the spring 8. The spacing therebetween is thereby increased and the toner existing in this part is smoothly passed through the spacing. The possibility of the clogging of the excess toner in the position where the image carrier and the magnet roller face each other and the consequent damage of the photosensitive layer and other members is thereby eliminated.
