NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I [R is group of formula II-IV, etc.; n is 0 or 1; X is O or S; Y is (CH2)m or CH=CH; m is 0 or 1; Z is group of formula V-VI; p is 0, 1 or 2). EXAMPLE:3-[ 3-{ 3-(Piperidinomethyl) phenoxy }propylamino ]-4-{2-(3-furylmethyl thio)ethylamino}-1,2,5-thiadiazole-1-oxide. USE:An anti-peptic ulcer agent having gastric mucosa protecting action in addition to the strong action to suppress the secretion of gastric acid based on excellent histamine H2 receptor antagonistic action. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced either by reacting (A) a compound of formula R-(CH2)n-X-CH2-Y-CH2NH2 with (B) 1,2-dimethoxy-1- cyclobutene-3,4-dione or 3,4-dimethoxythiazole-1-oxide and reacting the product with (C) a compound of formula VII or by reacting the compound C with the compound B and reacting the product with the compound A.
