A weft insertion device of a fluid jet shuttleless loom, said device comprising a plurality of fixed weft insertion nozzles (1 min , 1 sec ) each nozzle (1 min , 1 sec ), having a jet orifice, at least one of the jet orifices being arranged to discharge weft (y) in a direction which is offset from a given line ( l - l ) corresponding to the intended line of sight of the weft path (g); and a weft guide (2c) provided adjacent said at least one of the jet orifices, said weft guide (2c) having a streamlined surface shaped so that weft (y) discharged from said at least one of the jet orifices in use is diverted from said direction to travel along said given line as a result of boundary-layer flow over said streamlined surface.
