<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the mechanical and chemical properties of a product after plating by bringing an electrically conductive polymer into contact with an org. dye and treating the polymer with a soln. of a heavy metallic salt and a reducing agent. CONSTITUTION:An electrically conductive polymer is brought into contact with an org. dye such as azo, anthraquinone or indigoid dye. The polymer have conjugated double bonds in the principal chain and may be a composite body thereof. The contact may be proceeded in an aq. soln., a nonaq. soln or in a water-org. solvent mixture, or vapor phase contact. By the contact, the dye molecules are adhered to the electrically conductive polymer by adsorption, sorption or doping so as to facilitate the chelation and adsorption of a heavy metal salt or heavy metal ions, the coupling and bonding or the mechanical sticking. The heavy metal salt and a reducing agent are then allowed to act on the polymer in a soln. By this method, electroless plating with various metals is enabled by very simple operation.</p> |
