The position-securing element (4) is located on a first component (2) and is used for securing the position of a second component (5) which is to be combined with the first component (2) in a predetermined alignment. The position-securing element (4) essentially has the shape of a tab, which is raised above a reference plane of the first component (2). The position-securing element (4) is produced by means of a tool similar to a mandrel, which is pressed into the first component (2), inclined with respect to the reference plane. In this case, material is displaced so that a slot-like depression (8) is formed on the one hand and a material accumulation above the reference plane is formed on the other hand, the accumulation having a shape which corresponds to that of the position-securing element (4). The position-securing element (4) is suitable for securing the position of, for example, electrical circuits or other components during bonding or soldering onto the first component (2).
