In a method for replacing a cover for a stop-tap or other below-ground device a diamond cutter forms a cut around the cover which is then removed together with the surrounding material to leave a hole, the base of the hole is provided with a layer of mortar on which is laid a flange of a tube and mortar is laid on the flange. Finally a new cover is placed on the mortar and embraces the tube with the top of the cover flush with the surround. The hole is then filled with mortar. |
