The invention relates to a method for placing retail products, layer by layer, in a container. The method is characterised in that the container is constructed from a first separated part in the shape of a U, constituting the bottom and two lateral walls of the container and obtained by folding from a flat blank and from two parts advantageously in the shape of a U, which are obtained from flat blanks and constitute the front and rear lateral walls provided with two lateral flaps for fastening to the lateral walls of the first part, and in that the layers of retail products are formed and are stacked onto the bottom of the container by being introduced laterally at least before positioning of the last lateral wall. The invention can be used, for example, for placing packs of butter in a container.
