PURPOSE:To automatically and correctly bring both parting end parts of bellows type filter medium together on a specified axis line to butt-joint each other by using a butting means of specified structure. CONSTITUTION:A filter medium A of pleated shape in cross section and of square shape in plain is inserted from a receiving trough 5 into the peripheral space 9 between a forming surface of arc of a guide 7 of trough shape and the outer peripheral surface of a guide rod 8 inserted into the guide. By the movement of the filter medium A in this inserted state, the filter medium A is gradually wound along the tapered forming surface so that the diameter becomes small and both the parting end plain parts B are respectively brought into contact with the right and left side surfaces of the butting plate 8a of the guide rod 8. From this state, the lowering of a butting member 10, the leaving of both the parting end plain parts B from the butting plate 8a due to the movement of the filter medium A, the inserting of a hoop member C1, and the pressing of the butting part by pressing dies 16, 17 are carried out in order, and the product of the filter body is obtained. |
