PURPOSE:To improve abrasion resistance and crack resistance, by coating a magnetic material that is formed by metallurgically combining powder for a permanent magnet with a nonmagnetic metal coating material having excellent abrasion resistance. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic material 1 is coated with a metal coating material 2. The magnetic material 1 and the metal coating material 2 are diffuse and bonded. The magnetic material 1 is a magnetic material wherein, e.g., powder for a rare earth magnet is metallurgically combined. The metal coating material 2 is a nonmagnetic metal material having excellent abrasion resistance such as, e.g., high Mn steel and austenite based stainless steel. Therefore, a magnet has the excellent abrasion resistance of the metal coating material 2, and the magnetic material is protected by the coating of the metal coating material 2. Thus, breaking and cracking are prevented. Since the magnetic material 1 and the metal coating material 2 form a unitary body as a material composition by the diffusion and bonding, bonding of both material is very rigid. Thus, the magnet having the excellent abrasion resistance and crack resistance can be obtained. |
