<p>An independent wheel suspension system for a motor vehicle includes a road wheel, a power delivery means mounted on a chassis structure of the vehicle, and a drive shaft assembly for torque transmission from said power delivery means to said road wheel, said drive shaft assmbly including a constant velocity ratio universal joint disposed adjacent said power delivery means and a further coupling adjacent said road wheel, and a shaft member connecting said constant velocity ratio joint and said further coupling, said joint, further coupling and shaft member being adapted to transmit axial forces whereby axial thrust forces are capable of being transmitted between said road wheel and power delivery means.</p> |
