PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in picture quality and malfunction that may occur by recording and reading information if a camera is not applicable by providing a means storing information on a camera applicable to the film cartridge and a means outputting the stored information in response to a reading signal from the camera. CONSTITUTION:The cartridge is provided with the means storing information on the camera applicable to the film cartridge and the means outputting stored information in response to the reading signal from the camera. When the film cartridge is loaded to the camera, information on an ID code, etc., regarding the applicable camera is outputted in response to reading from the camera, and the judgement on the application of the camera can be made according to the information, and if so, subsequent data communication becomes possible. Consequently, misoperation arising when the camera is not applicable and deterioration in picture quality can be prevented. |
