Magnetic reading head of the horizontal type for perpendicular recording. The magnetic layer (50, 51, 52) is interrupted by two intervals arranged symmetrically with respect to the plane of the monopole (56). A U-shaped magnetoresistant element is comprised of two ribbons (34, 36) which are parallel to the monopole and are arranged respectively in both intervals of the magnetic layer. Application to the reading and optionally the writing of magnetically recorded information. |
