An educational method and bookmarker device which includes an elongated planar sheet assembly (12) of polyvinyl plastic overlaminated with clear vinyl so as to form a recording surface (14). The smooth and glossy finish of recording surface (14) facilitates writing and subsequent erasing of indicia recorded with a writing instrument (20). Permanent indicia (16) is provided on the recording surface to facilitate recording and compilation of words and/or notes. The recording surface also includes a non-erasable portion (22) of polyvinyl plastic having a matte-finish so that information may be permanently recorded on the non-erasable portion (22). A clip (26) is ultrasonically welded to the sheet assembly (12) to releasably retain the writing instrument (20). The clip has a resilient retaining portion (30) to releasably retain the writing instrument and a planar attaching portion (28) having energy deflectors (32) to facilitate ultrasonic welding of the clip to the sheet assembly. |
