<p>An aqueous composition comprising a carboxylate group-containing blocked polyurethane and water as essential components, wherein said polyurethane is a reaction product of a carboxylic acid (or carboxylate) group-containing polyoxyalkylene polyol containing at least 50% by weight of oxyethylene groups, with an average number of hydroxyl groups being more than 2 and having, on an average, from 0.005 to 0.8 -COOX group (X: a hydrogen atom or a cation) per molecule at the backbone chain terminals, a polyisocyanate having isocyanate groups in an amount stoichiometrically in excess of the hydroxyl groups of said polyol, and a blocking agent in an amount corresponding to the stoichiometrically excess amount of said polyisocyanate, and when X is a hydrogen atom, X is converted to a cation at an optional stage.</p> |
