PURPOSE:To prevent developing memory from occurring by providing a mechanical carrier moving means near a magnetic carrier moving means so that it may be separated from the magnetic carrier moving means and spaced at a distance <1mm therefrom. CONSTITUTION:A developer stirring means 1 stirs carrier and toner to adjust the component of developer. A developer carrying means 3 supplies the developer fed by a developer supply means 2 to a developing area in a state where the developer is stuck to the surface of the means 3, and the developer is removed from the surface thereof. A developer layer thickness regulating means 4 regulates the thickness of the layer of the developer stuck on the surface of the means 3 and a developer removing means 5 removes the developer remaining on the surface of the means 3. The magnetic carrier moving means 6 feeds the developer removed from the means 3 to an area where the means 1 exists. Furthermore, the mechanical carrier moving means 8 is provided between the means 6 and the means 1 so that it may be separated from the means 6 and spaced at a distance <1mm therefrom. |
