PURPOSE:To reduce the returning sound emitted from a parking pedal by furnishing the pedal with a contacting surface to contact stopper rubber, and providing this contacting surface with a part, which is put in pressure contact with and slides on the peripheral surface of the stopper rubber on the way of return rotation, and another part which contacts the stopper rubber in the conpression direction in the position with returning ended. CONSTITUTION:When brake is out of service, stopper rubber 20 contacts only partially the contacting surface 15 in the initial period when the pawl 32 of a rachet wheel 30 is set off from ratchet teeth 13a, so that a parking pedal 10 returns quickly with the force of a return spring 12. Meantime part of the contacting surface 15, particularly its circumferentially directed part 15a, is put in pressure contact with and slides on the peripheral surface of the rubber 20 on the way of rotation, so that the pedal 10 is braked and rotates slowly. In the position with returning ended, the the radially directed part 15b of the contacting surface 15 contacts the rubber 20 in the compression direction, and the pedal 10 stops in this position. Immediately before the end of the returning, the pedal rotating speed is sufficiently low, so that little impact sounds will be generated. |
