PURPOSE:To prevent the breakage of an air electrode and to improve its chemical stability by sintering a strontium-doped lanthanum manganite powder having a specified composition and using the sintered body for the air electrode. CONSTITUTION:La2O3, SrCO3 and Mn2O3 are mixed in a desired molar ratio, and the mixture is calcined to produce a strontium-doped lanthanum manganite powder (A) having the composition shown by the formula (0<x<0.2 and 0.025<y<0.75 or 0.2<=x<0.4 and 0.025<y<0.05). The A component is then sintered, and the sintered body is used for an air electrode 10 (B). The air electrode 10 and a fuel electrode 11 are formed on the front and rear of a solid electrolyte 9 to obtain a cell 1. The cell 1 and a separator 4 are alternately laminated with spacers 2 and 3 in between to obtain an air supply space 5 and a combustion gas supply space 6, and a combustion gas supply pipe 7 and an air supply pipe 8 are provided to the spaces 5 and 6 to constitute a solid electrolyte fuel cell. |
