<p>PURPOSE:To ensure smooth feeding of a feedstock into a feedstock melting machine by passing a feedstock from a hopper through a horizontal cylinder equipped with a cooling means and a vertical cylinder equipped with a heating means each using a piston. CONSTITUTION:A first shutoff valve 8 is closed and a piston 11 in a horizontal cylinder 9 is moved back. A piston 18 in a vertical cylinder 16 is raised and a second shutoff valve 20 is closed. The valve 8 is then opened for a certain time to allow a certain quantity of a feedstock (powdery waste plastic) 22 to fall from a hopper 4 into the horizontal cylinder 9. Since the cylinder 9 is being cooled, the feedstock is prevented from melting and remains powdery. The valve 8 is then closed, and the piston 11 is advanced to cause the powdery feedstock to fall into the vertical cylinder 16. Since the cylinder 16 is being heated, the feedstock melts to become creamy. The second shutoff valve 20 is then opened, and the piston 18 is lowered to cause the creamy feedstock to fall into a feedstock melting machine without giving high load on the means for driving the piston 18 and without being fused to the inside of the cylinder 16. Hereafter, the above-mentioned operations are repeated.</p> |
