<p>PURPOSE:To improve output of an engine over a wide rotational speed range by rotating a rocker shaft to select a cam. CONSTITUTION:When the cam follower surface 8c, 9c of second and third rocker arms 8, 9 are position-charged downward in relation the cam follower surface 7c of a first rocker arm 7, abutting of the second to third rocker arms 8, 9 and second and third cams 4, 5 may be released, and the first rocker arm 7 abuts on a first cam 3 to operate valves 1, 2 of an engine by the first cam 3. When the cam follower surfaces 8c, 9c of the second and third rocker arms 8, 9 are position-charged to the same position or nearly upward in relation to the cam follower surface 7c of the first rocker arm 7, abutting of the first rocker arm 7 to the first cam 3 is released, and the second and third rocker arms 8, 9 abut respectively to the second and third cams 4, 5 so as to operate the valves 1, 2 of an engine by the second and third cams 4, 5. It is thus possible to improve output in the wide rotational speed range.</p> |
