The muting circuit mutes the AC component of input signal when the level of input signal is lower than reference level. The circuit includes a comparator for comparing magnitudes of input signal with reference signal, and a muting circuit for outputting amplified input signal added by DC level when output signal of the comparator is high, and for outputting DC level when output signal of the comparator is low. The circuit outputs constant DC level regardless of the muting operation so that periperal equipments using the output signalof the muting circuit as voltage source are operated normally.
