Roving frame in which high speed winding can be achieved - has the flyer in the form of a bell to shape the bobbin, and prevents hairiness and fluff on winding

A roving frame utilises a bell in place of a flyer. The bell is shaped in a curve along the bottom edge so that one side is lower than the other. The bell pref. has a top shape of a tumbler and bottom of an apron, hanging lower at the front and with an open curve at the back. This leaves the bobbin partly open during winding for fluff to escape. The tubular form continues through the hole as a tube for the slubbing down to the exit point at the lower edge of the apron. At this point, the arm attached to the bell is bent round and fitted with a presser pad at the end. This lays the slubbing evenly on to the bobbin. ADVANTAGE - The winding can be at high speed to form the correct shape of bobbin. Fluff and hairiness on the winding is avoided.
