摘要 A sintering support surface is made by pouring a highly viscous mass made up of high purity, chemically inactive inorganic powder, 20-70 wt.% H2O and 5-50 wt.% organic binder onto a steel strip to produce a layer 0.3-2 mm thick. Immediately as the viscous layer is cast, an inorganic powder is uniformly sieved or sprinkled on top such that the grains partially sink into the mass. During latter sintering reaction the grains are effectively anchored into the substrate with part of their surface protruding from the substrate to produce a space "a" between the substrate surface and the bottom of articles to be sintered. ADVANTAGE - Reusable support surface which is chemically inert towards the sinter products, has good resistance to thermal changes and permits no capillary action as the pores of the substrate are spaced apart from the sinter prods.
