PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device that suppresses degradation of sensitivity and reduces an alias between adjacent pixels even for focus detecting pixels for shielding a part of incident light.SOLUTION: A plurality of pixels 201, 211L and 211 R include first pixels 211L, 211R each of which has a light shielding member 212 for shielding a part of incident light to make the light reception incidence angle vary, and a second pixel 201 which does not have any light shielding member 212 to make the light reception incident angle vary. Each of the pixels includes a photodiode 302, an insulating film 304, and a core layer (high refractive insulating film 309) having a higher refractive index than the insulating film 304. A portion of the insulating film 304 which is located at the same height from the semiconductor substrate 301 as the core layer is used as a cladding layer. The core layer forms an optical waveguide that guides light by reflecting incident light at the cladding layer, and the bottom surface of the core layer of the first pixel is in contact with the light shielding member 212.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
