PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for acylation of alcohol for selectively producing an acylated alcohol at high yield by an efficient and simple method from alcohol and an inexpensive carboxylic acid as raw material; and a production method of acylated alcohol by using the catalyst.SOLUTION: The catalyst for acylation of alcohol includes lanthanum (III) ions fixed between the crystalline layers of montmorillonite. The production method of acylated alcohol includes obtaining acylated alcohol from the reaction of alcohol and carboxylic acid under presence of the catalyst for acylation of alcohol. |
