A viewer application (which may be called a sandbox application) comprises code that: retrieves an application package with code for an application targeted for evaluation; stores the code in a memory accessible to the viewer application, without installing the target application as a stand-alone application; and executes stored code of the viewer application to execute the target application, wherein the target application executes within the execution of the viewer application. The viewer application preferably modifies the target application to include: reference code for a user interface (UI) of the viewer application, wherein the target application monitors for input corresponding to a request to return to the UI of the viewer application and/or code that modifies the target application to retrieve an updated version from a server and/or code that captures a screenshot of a UI generated for the target application. |
