PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet discrimination device capable of properly discriminating abnormality in detail.SOLUTION: The paper sheet discrimination device has a light receiving section 1011 that receives a reflectance of a beam of irradiation light from a first light source 1012 reflected by a medium under transportation and receives a beam of transmitted light which is a beam of irradiation light from a second light source 1013 transmitted through the medium. The paper sheet discrimination device includes abnormality discrimination means that determines abnormality based on amount of the light received by the light receiving section 1011 when the first light source 1012 is turned ON in a state that no medium is transported and the amount of light received by the light receiving section 1011 when the second light source 1013 is turned ON.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
