PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of stably providing magnesium whose purity is made high.SOLUTION: Raw material for magnesium with a purity of 4 N or lower other than gas components is charged to the crucible of a sublimation container, this is heated at 500 to 650°C so as to be sublimed, this is stuck (vapor-deposited) to the side wall at the inside of the sublimation container to perform the first sublimation refining, next, the magnesium subjected to the primary sublimation refining is recovered, thereafter, this magnesium is again charged to the crucible of the sublimation container, is heated to a temperature of the melting point (650°C) or lower, is subjected to the secondary sublimation refining, and is similarly stuck (deposit) to the side wall at the inside of the sublimation container to recover the magnesium with a purity of 5 N or higher other than the gas components.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
