PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereo image imaging device and method that adjust an arrangement and direction of two cameras, and do not require a calibration work accompanied by an arrangement change of the two cameras.SOLUTION: A stereo image imaging device 1 according to the present invention includes: a camera 11 and camera 12 that are arranged on either end of a bottom side of an isosceles triangle T with an imaged object 100 as an apex, and shoot the imaged object 100; a camera rotating mechanism 21 that rotates the camera 11 and camera 12 in an in-plane P including the isosceles triangle T; a range find er 23 that measures a distance Lto the imaged object 100; and a control device 30 that controls the camera rotating mechanism 21 on the basis of the distance Lmeasured by the range finder 23.
