PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing toner that suppresses viscosity increase due to the addition of resin to obtain a sharp particle size distribution without disturbing granulation properties and has excellent fixability and durability.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing toner having toner particles containing a binder resin comprises the steps of: dispersing a polymerizable monomer composition containing styrene and macromonomer in an aqueous medium to form particles of the polymerizable monomer composition; and copolymerizing the styrene and the macromonomer contained in the particles of the polymerizable monomer composition to form the bonder resin and obtaining toner particles. The macromonomer is a macromonomer derived from alkyl (meth) acrylate. The macromonomer has a melting point (Tm) of 50°C or more and 90°C or less in measurement with a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The polymerizable monomer composition contains the macromonomer of 3 mass% or more and 40 mass% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
